Kyoto, Japan

Kyoto is probably the most known town after Tokyo in Japan and known for it’s temples. These are scattered over the city and if you insist on seeing every temple you would take days and days over it and, unless you are a real enthusiast, you are going to get sick of looking at them – even if you don’t realise it at the time. I’m not suggesting you shouldn’t check them out because there are some good ones, but research a handful that sound interesting to you and then spend the rest of the time on other activities: there are great markets and a more laid back atmosphere than Tokyo. It’s   worth just wandering around and stumbling upon shrines not hit by the masses and maybe even getting to the forested hills and starting a hike. I’m sure you’ll have a great time here, but don’t get templed out!
